No fancy title today, I love the name of this coaster and want to showcase it. I rode this last year before the big retrack and I left impressed. It's such a fun, intense coaster that fits in perfectly with the rest of B&M's early inverts (the pinnacle of their catalog). Yeah that sounds a little pretentious but it's the truth! Can't wait to see the reviews coming out from the park for the retrack!

  • Yet Another Goliath

Yep, yet another coaster named Goliath at a Six Flags park. What the ride lacks in originality is made up for in quality. Yeah, it's a Batman The Ride clone but has anyone complained about that ride being cloned? It's as forceful and compact as ever. And the fact that it has an interesting history from Six Flags New Orleans makes it even better.

What can I say that hasn't been said about Montu? It's fast, it's intense and it's great. I really need to get back out to BGT soon so I can ride it (and get some better pictures with my new photography equipment).

  • King of Coasters

I'm definitely a B&M hyper guy. I love airtime and have gotten less tolerant of high positive Gs over the years (not that I've ever been a huge fan). Well, B&M hypers are the perfect embodiment of that ethos. And Goliath is a great one. I love the awesome airtime and the way that it goes in and out of the park. I think it was my favorite coaster at the park.

  • Fly Like an Eagle

Can we agree that Mild Eagle is one of the best coaster enthusiast nicknames for a coaster? I'm not sure I quite agree but I get what they're going for. This ride is a ton of fun and unlike a lot of the earlier B&Ms, this is a ride that I can ride over and over without having any issue. More Mild Eagles please!

Wing coasters get a really bad rap from enthusiasts who complain that the rides spend too much time being graceful and not enough time being intense. Well that may be the case but I think the real point of the ride is the exposed-ness of you sitting on the wing. Like X-Flight here. The ride is full of near misses that really emphasizes just how close you are to dismemberment. When you reframe the ride as wanting to achieve that, they get a lot more fun! And I'm a fan.

  • Fast As A Bird

Sheikra is a favorite coaster of mine. There's just something about it's drop in particular that always amazes me. Not to mention the scenery around it is great. I think some of my best memories from BGT are just sitting at the smokehouse near the ride and watching it splash down while I eat some BBQ.

  • Don't Look Her in the Eyes

Medusa West always seems to deservedly get a lot of love. And it does deserve it. It's a great floorless coaster with a good mix of inversions and forces. Even if it is technically a parking lot coaster, it interacts well with the paths and most importantly, is a beautiful coaster to look at. Give it a fresh coat of paint and it'll be perfect!

  • In The Grasp

After a day at SFGAdv, I stopped in at Dorney before my flight back home left. I ended up being surprised just how much I liked it. It felt like a mini Cedar Point and I felt right at home. Talon was definitely a standout coaster at the park. It ended up being one of my favorite B&M inverts. It's fast and whippy, what more could you want on a looper?

  • Swarm on the Wing

Wing coasters kinda all feel the same to me. Wing over drop, zero-g roll, long drawn out manuevers. That is, until I rode The Swarm. What sets it apart is the theming. From the moment you walk onto its own island, you're surrounded by crashed equipment and an island under siege with the coaster as the cause. And you're treated to an exciting ride, dodging the equipment. This one is my current favorite wing coaster!

  • Volunteers Wanted

KI finally got their long rumored giga: Orion. And it's a good one! It doesn't quite live up to the dreams that enthusiasts had for a Fury beater but it offers a sufficiently different ride from Diamondback to make it interesting. I think I personally prefer DB but that's admittedly heavily influenced by the nostalgia I have for the ride. Hoping to get back to KI next year at some point and Orion is the coaster I plan on marathoning at night!

  • Keeping the Gate

Gatekeeper is one of the most underrated coasters in the country, there I said it. Despite being constantly disparaged by enthusiasts for not having face melting intensity and overlooked for being at Cedar Point, this coaster always provides a fantastic ride. Sit in the front row and you'll feel like you're flying around the front of Cedar Point.
